9:30 am	wednesday is 'hunchy' It was yesterday, wednesday. My coworker said to me, "Yep. Wednesday is hunchy!" I didn't get it. He looked at me with amazement in saying, "You never heard of this expression? How many years do you live in Canada?" Heh! 15 years! He explained with a sneaky smile that wednesday seems to be on a top of hunchback and that the hardest day of a week. Well, thanks. Is this a common expression? Do you (any English speakers) use the phrase: wednesday is hunchy? (3 Comments |Comment on this)

9:48 pm	I'm gonna be a mother again! Yes, I am expecting three more babies comming into my house! The surrogate mother Mrs. K gave me email yesterday. She wrote to me that she had given a birth a few days ago. Two of the babies are black & white and their heights are less than 6 cm. The third one is white & brown with blue eyes! Mrs. K is going to send them to me in a box. I am overjoyed! (Now, you know that I am talking about stuffed Panda babies.) (Comment on this)

10:57 pm	Who are "we"? Last night, Mrs. A gave me a call inviting me a party that she is going to have. How kind she is, I thought at first. Then she started asking me how she shall organize the party: place, price & people whom she should invite for the night. Mrs. A joyfully talked: You think that WE can do this? or that? I was perplexed. Who are "we"? I don't want to be an organizer for her. I'm not her friend after all and don't know about her surroundings. In the middle of our conversation, she tactfully or naturally switched the subject of sentences from "I" to "We". But, who are WE? Does she mean, she & I? I recalled that a Nobel prize winner, Kenzaburo Oe speached a subject of un ambiguous Japanese language at the receiving ceremony. But, to me, English is more ambiguous than Japanese. 9:30 pm	Yes, I am... A lady phoned & asked me a few questions about some book that she read long time ago. After a brief conversation, all of the sudden, she asked me "Are you Japanese?" Pause.... I know that I have a heavy Japanese accent with my English, cuz I was grown up in Japan. I am proud of my ability to speak &comprehend my first language PERFECTLY ;-), and because of this (?) my ability of speaking/writing/reading second language is quite limited and far from PERFECT. I always hesitate speaking to someone with my second language. Talking with this lady on the phone made me really nervous. OK! Never mind. I responded to the lady, "Yes, I am Japanese". She seemed to be satisfied with my answer. Even though it is not true. (I am no more Japanese; I have been Canadian for a few years). Being a human is not easy: I'd rather be a panda. 7:41 am	movable happiness Zoe. I met her last night on the way to a restaurant. She is a three month old bulldog. Her proud human friend told me that Zoe slept on the counter at her vet's office while she got her puppy shots. Soft, sleek and sweet creature she really is. Her tail looked like a miniature cinnamon bun ;-) Zoe set her chin on my palm (a very calm and nice approach); her attached cinnamon bun was shaking a tiny bit for me. Such a pretty motion. She was a movable happiness to me. (Comment on this)

11:18 pm	Prince Takamado dies at age 47 Shocked to learn that Prince Takamado of Japan has just passed away at age of 47! He studied University of Kingston, Canada and is/was honorary head of the Japan-Canada Society. The Asahi Shimbun reports: Prince Takamado dies at age 47 The prince collapsed while playing squash at the Canadian Embassy. Prince Takamado, a cousin of Emperor Akihito, died Thursday night after collapsing during the afternoon at the Canadian Embassy in Tokyo's Minato Ward while playing squash, the Imperial Household Agency said. The 47-year-old prince was the seventh in line to the Chrysanthemum Throne. He had arrived at the embassy at 3 p.m. for a game with Canadian Ambassador Robert Wright, 55. ... (Comment on this)
9:45 pm	bought a copy of Jhumpa Lahiri's book Today, I visited more than two bookstores to find a copy of "Interpreter of Maladies". One store had only ONE copy which front cover was partially damaged, and I had to ride on my donkey to get to another store.
